Brookfield

Overview

As the third largest city in Waukesha County, Brookfield is home to nearly 38,000 residents. The city is known for having beautiful houses, beautiful natural landscapes, and wonderful community for both families and businesses. Located near Interstate 41 and Interstate 94, Brookfield is positioned only 15 miles west of downtown Milwaukee. Pewaukee borders the city to the west, while Wauwatosa neighbors Brookfield to its east.

This area was focused mainly on agriculture until the mid-1900s, which residents can still see today amongst a bustling community with richly varied industries, such as marketing and manufacturing. Brookfield serves as the headquarters for many companies, including Argo Industries Inc., Cielo, Fiserv, and Dieringer Research Company.

Recreation

Brookfield sports a wide range of attractions for both parents and children alike. There are 24 parks—totaling over 1,700 acres of land—packed with athletic fields, trails, sport courts, playgrounds, skating rinks, and ponds to enjoy. Fox Brook Lake is the perfect family spot for swimming, picnicking, and hiking.There are over 100 stores located at Brookfield Square, a mall located on Moorland Road.  On Brookfield Rd., there’s a small downtown area with local restaurants and retail stores. The Milwaukee County Zoo is a short one-mile drive from the southeastern edge of Brookfield.
