About the Community
Overview
Chenequa is a luxury housing destination centered around the joys of lakeside living. With only 600 full-time residents, Cheqequa is a quiet village with undisturbed natural beauty abound. Chenequa has about four square miles of land, all wrapped around the gorgeous Pine Lake in the center of the village. Chenequa is named after the Potawatomi Indian word for “pine” because rare Southern Wisconsin White Pines are found here. This village is positioned 30 miles west of downtown Milwaukee and is bordered by Hartland to its east. Chenequa maintains its peaceful aura by being a residential-only community.
Recreation
Chenequa residents have access to three lakes for boating, swimming, and relaxing: the 711-acre Pine Lake, the 440-acre North Lake, and the 313-acre Beaver Lake. Chenequa is also home to Nanotash park, a diverse area of land with lakes, grasslands, wooded areas, and trail for hiking and birding. Finally, Chenequa Country Club allows members access to fine dining, tennis courts, a golf course, and events for the whole family.
