Beautiful lakes are abundant in the quaint village of Summit. Located in Waukesha County, about 4,800 residents call this village of 28.5 square miles their home. Dousman borders Summit to the south, Delafield to the east, Oconomowoc to the north, and Concord to the west. With Interstate 94 just north of the village, travel time to downtown Milwaukee is only 30 minutes.

After Andrew Baxter settled the area in 1837, Summit was named after Summit Prairie, which was considered to be the highest point between the Rock and Fox Rivers. Today, the village, a mix of urban and rural areas, has a median home value of $300,000, according to Realtor.com. The main occupational industries for residents include retail trade, manufacturing, healthcare, and educational services.

Recreation

Swimming, boating, and fishing are common activities in Summit, thanks to the many lakes located in the village. A total of 14 good-sized lakes are found in Summit, ranging from the 252-acre Golden Lake to the 277-acre Upper Nemahbin Lake. There are also many more lakes in the surrounding area to explore. Four parks in the village have many amenities including sports fields, playgrounds, open green spaces, and hiking paths, perfect for family outings.
