About Saukville
A charming village established along the Milwaukee River, Saukville is located in the center of Ozaukee County, just west of Port Washington and north of Grafton. A population of approximately 4,500 people reside in this community positioned 23 miles north of downtown Milwaukee and three miles west of Lake Michigan. Established in 1848, settlers included Norwegians and Germans, whose presence is still felt today in the architecture and the names of the streets.
The Green Bay Ethnic Trail, an official heritage route and a segment of Wisconsin’s Ethnic Settlement Trail, runs through Saukville.
