About River Hills
River Hills offers country living only a fifteen minute drive from the heart of Milwaukee. This village has a population of just 1,600, and almost all of the lots consist of five or more acres of land. Located just west of Interstate 43 and 12 miles north of Downtown Milwaukee, River Hills is bordered by Brown Deer on the west and both Bayside and Fox Point on the east.
One of River Hills’ main attractions is its natural splendor, with lush forests and prairies running through the spacious properties. The Milwaukee River meanders through the village, as does Indian Creek. Its two largest parks, Brown Deer Park and Kletzsch Park, lie on the border of River Hills and provide fun for all ages. The Lynden Sculpture Garden captures beauty through both art and flora, with more than 50 sculptures dotting over 40 acres of parkland. The Oak Leaf Trail, a 108-mile paved trail perfect for a quiet jog or bike, twists through the village. River Hills also hosts the Milwaukee Country Club, which is praised for its incredible 18-hole golf course. It has hosted many notable golf events, such as 2008 U.S. Mid-Amateur and the 1969 Walker Cup.
In River Hills and the areas surrounding it, there are recreational opportunities for every interest. Some of these include:
