Milwaukee’s North Shore is one of the most desirable places to live in all of Wisconsin. Known for great schools, walkable communities, and gorgeous views of Lake Michigan, home buyers flock to this location. Low inventory and rising prices are commonplace for home ownership here. A great alternative to single family living are the North Shore’s luxury condos and townhouse offerings if you can find them.

Sought-after locations like Whitefish Bay and Shorewood have few offerings and the townhomes at Ravina Estates with Lake Michigan Views in Shorewood and Whitefish Bay’s 5600 North Lake almost never hit the market. These properties lie in the heart of their communities, offer walkable turnkey living with no exterior maintenance required, and are highly sought after by snowbirds who want to live close to their children.

Luxury condos, by definition, start in the mid $500,000 range and exceed prices of over a million dollars when you start looking at condos in Columbia Creek. Expect high prices and competitive bids in the North Shore. Condo fees for some of the more convenient locations can exceed $800 a month. Be sure to review the condo documents for condo rules and regulations for each complex.

    One of Mequon's premier luxury brick townhomes with charming curb appeal and a contemporary flair.

    B. Ravina Estates – Shorewood

      Lake Michigan Views Townhomes with 2 car attached garages. Very unique for the North Shore. Exceptionally popular with older adults who want a primary suite on the first floor.

      C. Columbia Creek – SE Mequon

        Nestled between River Hills and Mequon just North of University School. These amazing townhomes live like single family homes with half the taxes of Milwaukee County. My favorite of all the condos on the list. Very High quality and built by Lakeside Development.

        D. Astor Woods – Mequon

          Tranquil wooded lots! The open concept & spacious rooms make entertaining a breeze with vaulted ceilings highlighted by a fireplace, built-ins & Brazilian cherry floors.

          E. Newport Shores – Port Washington Marina

            Modern Living Meets Maritime - Newport Shores offers the best access and stunning views of Lake Michigan. This is a mixed use condo, retail, and commercial building celebrating Port Washington and it’s marina. It creates a year-round destination for residents. Designed by world-class architects Rinka, it improves the pedestrian walkway along the lake to realize the city's vision for a cohesive public connection from Coal Dock Park.

            F. 5600 Lake – Whitefish Bay

              Outstanding luxury condominium homes, with top-of-the-line finishes. Close to Lake Michigan, and the shops, restaurants, entertainment of Whitefish Bay.

              G. The Woods at Highland Park – West Mequon

                New Construction to be completed late 2022/early 2023!!! Custom designed side-by-side single story condominium. White interiors - the newest of all the complexes in Mequon.

                H. Heron Pond – Mequon

                  Built in 2013 on the west side of Mequon near the Mequon Public Market. Open concept living, many windows, maple hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings & neutral décor.

                  I. Lakes of Ville du Parc – Mequon

                    Townhouse style condos with attached 2 car garages. Some of the units have views of the ponds and marshes that dot the landscape. Some updating in these units may be required. You can get into these for right around $500,000. Full basements and live like a home.

                    J. Cedar Ridge – SE Mequon

                      One of my favorites for affordability and sense of community. These townhomes boast first floor primary suites with views of the pond. The community is easily walkable and offers newer construction.

                      K. Edgewood Place – Shorewood

                        Sophisticated and spacious! Elegant features of this outstanding complex include hardwood floors, soaring ceilings, recessed lighting throughout, 6-panel doors and crown moldings. Newer construction for the North Shore.

                        Your agent should know the condo developments in your area and what issues they might have. Things that could negatively affect your life in a condo might include special assessments and infrastructure problems within the building. A good agent will be able to tell you if there’s been acrimony over community issues. They will also know which developments have fared best in resale values, which is especially important. If the condo isn’t your forever home, you’re going to want to maximize its value when you sell it.
