The Next Chapter: Why Powers Realty Group is Poised for Growth

I have recently started hiring again. Wow what a difference 3 years makes in my personal development as a coach. I got very clear about who I wanted to train and how I would develop veteran agents and this time it is like a whole new person in me that has been begging to arrive since I opened the company. I am actually losing myself in these agents to develop their branding and sales strategies and it feels so right. I know I am on the right path. It is so strange. This time around I am not afraid to share all my wisdom, and I am not holding back any “prized” technique or marketing plan. This season of growth feels different. It’s clearer, deeper, and undeniably right.

When I started Powers Realty Group, my vision was bold, but in hindsight, I sacrificed the corporate culture the first time around for what I thought would be growth, but I was miserable because I surrounded myself with personalities who were not aligned with our corporate mission, personality and core values. I slipped. God knows it, and the results left me unfulfilled.

So, I shrank the company.

Yes, you read that right. I intentionally reduced the size of Powers Realty Group from three offices and 70 agents to one office and 23 carefully selected agents. This process wasn’t easy—it took seven years to refine what had taken only four years to build, and then another 3 years of self reflection, prayer and mediation. Four hours alone every morning for 3 years helped me gain clarity on who I was as a leader and what Powers Realty Group needed to become.

Lessons from Shrinking to Grow Again

During this period of reflection, I joined a local tech group of CEOs, all very cool men who were successful manufacture CEO’s and Construction Owners. This group of all men who had their act together and it changed my life. I had the courage to open up in these meetings and surprisingly enough these men were insightful, sensitive and very wise. Instinctively they knew my path before I did. I was miserable and out of alignment with my purpose. They challenged me to redefine growth. Two of them even said, “Suzanne, you need to shrink the company and gain perspective on what you truly want.”

That advice sparked a journey of self-discovery. Over the next three years, I spent my mornings in rigorous exercise, deep prayer, and reflection. I asked myself tough questions: Who am I called to serve? How can I be the best version of myself for others?

What does Powers Realty Group look like from 50,000 feet? What does the development team look like? Who were the agents representing the brand? What did the clients look like that we were catering too? Today, I spend nearly every 4 hours at the beginning of every day alone to exercise and get very clear on where we are going.

A Fresh Approach to Coaching

Today, I’m hiring again, but with a completely different mindset. I’m pouring everything I’ve learned—every technique, strategy, and marketing plan—into developing veteran agents. This time, I’m not holding back. I’m not afraid to give my all because I know that by helping others succeed, I’ll fulfill my purpose.

Here’s the truth: I love working with agents who are in a fight. Agents who have been knocked down but aren’t ready to give up. Why? Because that struggle is the fuel for transformation. I’ve seen it time and again—when an agent is coachable and willing to grow, their potential is limitless.

What Big Brokerages Aren’t Teaching

In my experience, most veteran agents are frustrated because they’ve been left to fend for themselves in critical areas like branding, negotiation, and prospecting. That’s where Powers Realty Group steps in. Here is what Big Brokerage is NOT teaching agents and why my teaching is so different than what is out there:

Branding: Most agents don’t understand how to create a personal brand. This is the foundation of their success, and we provide a crash course to master it.

This season feels different because I’ve grown. I’m no longer trying to force success—I’m simply following the path God has set before me. Every interaction, every new hire, and every success feels like confirmation that I’m where I need to be.
