The Top Six Luxury Subdivisions in Mequon, Wisconsin

Mequon is a large, vibrant northern suburb of Milwaukee that borders Lake Michigan and is a quick 12-minute commute to downtown. As the southern most community in Ozaukee County and with a population of slightly more than 24,000, Mequon offers many unique amenities, including parks, shopping, restaurants and a movie theatre complex. To top it off, some of the new commercial developments being built are going to make Mequon more walkable and are within walking distance to many of Mequon’s popular luxury subdivisions.

This blog post is designed to help Mequon homebuyers learn more about why many of the city’s subdivisions are wonderful places to live and how they are getting even better as Mequon continues to break out of being a drive-only community into a vibrant, walkable community.

Mequon offers newer constructions, lower taxes (versus Milwaukee County communities) and now a budding, walkable development with the Mequon Public Market. If you are considering shopping for a newer construction west of the city, make sure to include Mequon. It offers an easier commute to downtown and top-notch schools. We love the many subdivisions of Mequon, and this article will focus on some of the most popular subdivisions with luxury homes and the amenities they offer.

Mequon, Wisconsin’s Top Six Luxury Subdivisions:

1. Beechwood Farms
2. The Pines
3. Concord Creek
4. Stonefields
5. Gazebo Hills
6. Vintage Estates

1. Beechwood Farms

Beechwood Farms is a family-friendly subdivision located in the southeast corner of Mequon and offers a 12-minute commute to downtown Milwaukee. One of the most attractive features of Beechwood Farms is its proximity to the freeway and Lake Michigan. This subdivision has walking trails and is directly across from Mequon’s Virmond Park, a 63-acre park along the banks of Lake Michigan where the sounds of summer can be heard throughout the warmer season. Beechwood Farms families enjoy water views with a few ponds dotted throughout the subdivision as well as forest-like lots on the north end.

2. The Pines

The Pines Subdivision of Mequon, Wisconsin was established in 2000 and is an upscale, luxury subdivision of Mequon. Many of the homes here were built by James Hoffman Builders. They feature soaring ceilings, painted-white trim and open-concept kitchens and family rooms. The Pines has an established HOA and its own Facebook page. This subdivision offers well-manicured lawns, symmetry from house-to-house and easy access to downtown Milwaukee. Most of the homes here are newer construction, and because of its easy commute to downtown, The Pines is one of the most popular luxury subdivisions in Mequon.

3. Concord Creek

The Concord Creek subdivision was established in 2010. Want a newly constructed home with walkability? This might be the place. Concord Creek offers a mix of single-family homes and townhome-style condominiums. This subdivision can be found west of the freeway by about seven minutes and is located between I-43 and I-45, making it easy for a west or downtown commute. Concord Creek may fast-become one of the most popular subdivisions of Mequon as the city center becomes established, particularly with the new Spur 16 Mequon Public Market that’s located on Mequon Road and is just outside this subdivision’s doorstep. Paths in Concord Creek provide residents with easy access to a nearby public library, baseball diamond and swimming pool. Want to walk to dinner? You can do that here. The paths also link to the Mequon-Thiensville Town Center and the Ozaukee Interurban Trail, a 30-mile paved path that spans the length of Ozaukee County.

4. Stonefields of Mequon

Stonefields has long been the subdivision of choice for many Milwaukee executives. This easy-to-live-in subdivision feels like a condo, with yard maintenance and snow removal as part of the HOA. Stonefields lies along the river and offers large rolling yards and beautiful scenery. There’s a similar theme found here as with the other Mequon luxury subdivisions—the walkability and the bike trails. Many prospective home buyers are not made aware of all the amenities Mequon has to offer, and often times it’s the walking and bike trails that are missed. These are some of the most desirable features of Mequon, especially because children in this subdivision use the trails to walk to Homestead High School.

5. Gazebo Hills

Gazebo Hills is a subdivision of 128 homes located off Donges Bay Road and Range Line Road in SE Mequon. This subdivision offers low Ozaukee County taxes and close proximity to University School.  This is a great choice for families who want Ozaukee County taxes but want to remain close to the school. This was one of the first-established subdivisions of Mequon, and it has a well-organized HOA.

6. Vintage Estates

Vintage Estates is a small, luxury subdivision located in the southeast corner of Mequon, near Lake Michigan. It features beautiful, stately homes with mature trees, a well-organized HOA and walking distance from Katherine Kearney Carpenter Park, which is home to a dog-agility course, many walking trails, picnic areas and a popular off-leash dog park.

We will feature more exciting Ozaukee County developments in the coming months to help buyers become more familiar with all Ozaukee County has to offer. Little has been written about the Ozaukee County communities, and in the coming months, we will offer new insights into Cedarburg, Grafton and Port Washington. Thank you for joining us for a peek into some of Mequon’s most popular subdivisions.
